Organic foods are great for you. They are produced with natural products used all through the growing process. Sometimes this means that organic foods are smaller and less than perfect in appearance than other produce. However the best way to feed your family is to buy organic.

If you have difficulty buying organismic in your local stores, then try the organic stores. You will find a larger selection of produce as well as other foods that have been grown, prepared and preserved naturally.

Why buy produce that is not as pretty or smaller than other produce? One taste will let you know. This produce has the best taste and is better for you and your family than the produce that has bee pumped full of chemicals.

Those chemicals sprayed on the outside of produce may work their way to the inside of the produce and despite multiple washings are in the food you eat and feed to your family. While these poisons may be dilute in nature, they are there anyways.

By choosing non-organic produce you are eating those chemicals. Some of them may remain in your body for the rest of your life, only to continue to build up until they become a problem. Others may be broken down by the digestive system, but who needs these unknown chemicals running around in your body.

Try this as a challenge. Change your diet to organic products only for one month. When next month is over, look at the condition of your hair, skin and fingernails. They should show signs of improved health at the end of the month, indicating a change in your overall health condition.

You will also find many organic stores online. While the may not be the source for fresh produce, you will find many great choices that can add variety to your diet. You can be assured that the foods you purchase online from these stores have not been treated with the chemicals for growing or preservatives They are the healthiest choice for your family.

Organic foods are produced using only natural products throughout the growth process. If you buy organic foods, they may be smaller and not quite as perfect looking as the produce across the aisle but you know that you are giving your family the best by shopping organic.

Organic stores are a better place to buy organic as they often have much larger selections of produce and other foods that have not been treated with any chemicals, hormones or pesticides.

Why would you buy small fruits and vegetables that may not be as pretty and spend more money for them? It is simple, they are better for you.

Many of the pesticides and other chemicals that are used on produce may leach into the fruits and vegetables that you buy. These poisons are very dilute inside the fruit or vegetable, but they are there none the less.

When you eat non-organic produce, then you are ingesting these chemicals. Some chemicals remain in the body for the rest of your life. Others are broken down in the digestive system in the body’s attempt to eliminate these products from the body. Some of the chemicals that result from this breakdown can also be damaging to the cells of the body.

Take the following challenge. Switch your diet to only organic products for the next month. At the end of the month check out your hair and fingernails. They will be healthier as you have shopped organic stores and made healthier choices.

Organic shopping can also be done on line. While it may not be possible to purchase fresh organic produce online, you can buy fruits, vegetables and other products that have been organically grown and preserved using heat or heat and steam without artificial preservatives. You can give your family the best in produce because you are buying organic online.

Organic foods are the best foods you can provide for your family. They are produced naturally and processed without chemicals. The organic foods you buy may not be as large or perfect in looks you can be sure that you are providing to your family are the best if you buy organic.

Today, approximately fifty percent of all Americans buy organic food and household products. Green consciousness has landed at the forefront of most Americans thinking when considering purchases and waste. Starting your own organic garden is a substantial step in lessening your carbon footprint on the world. There are several natural ways to keep an organic garden pest-free and chemical-free. Using organic pesticides is required to achieve a flourishing organic garden.

The following are just a few of the most effective and natural organic pesticides that most people already have in their homes.

Garlic, onions, red peppers

High calcium carbonates (egg shells, tums)

These are just a beginning in terms of common home remedies that are eco-friendly. Still, several of these products, natural or not, can be harmful is used incorrectly or in larger than recommended amounts. Just because something is “natural” does not mean that it can be consumed at any amount.

There are also several products on the market that are environmentally friendly and not harmful to humans or pets. Again, it is important to remember that just because something is “natural” or deemed “environmentally safe” does not mean it has no limits or restriction of use. Follow all instructions as if you were dealing with a dangerous conventional chemical product.

One simple, cost-effective completely green, pun intended, way to make your contribution as well as maximizing you and your family’s health and well being is to learn how to do your own organic gardening.

Today, establishing your own organic garden is a matter of just deciding you will do it and then taking the leap into learning how to make it happen. It is actually a lot easier than most people imagine.

At first, getting the right organic supplies and learning about seasons and sun direction might seem overwhelming, but it is honestly quite intuitive once you have the right materials. And it goes without saying how uplifting and impressive it is to plant a small seed and watch it grow into towering corn stalks in your back yard where you and the kids get to go pull a few ears off for dinner.

To start, you will need to spend some time at your local nursery and learn about what will grow where (sun exposure) and when (seasons). Die-hard nursery folk are extremely helpful in getting and keeping you on the right track in terms of gardening and you will begin to interact with the regulars and they will prove to be an invaluable font of information.

Of course you can access amazingly helpful information online, but if you are committed to organic gardening, then nothing can remotely replace getting acquainted with your local nursery; this will prove to be the best step in the entire home organic gardening process.

Home composting has been popular for many years. It is a great way to save on waste and creates a nutrient filled compost for your garden. What is more, home composting can actually save you money. There are many different ways to start home composting and in this article we will discuss some of them.

First, let’s talk about why you want to create a compost pile. First, it reduces the amount of waste within your home, particularly with fruits and vegetables, left over foods and such. Second, it saves you money in having to purchase fertilizer, and third, because it is really very healthy for your garden.

Many people choose to create a compost pile within their yard. This is a great way to get started with home composting. Compost is created from a balance of brown materials such as leaves or hay and green materials such as vegetable tops or grass. They should be alternated brown, green, brown, green, into layers. The pile should start at about three feet in height and width.

Of course, soil or booster may be desired, but is not necessary. These items work to help the break down process occur more quickly and efficiently. Each week, you should turn your pile several times, this allows oxygen to flow, which boosts the speed of break down.

If you do not have the yard space or do not want to deal with a pile such as this, you can take home composting to another level and do it within your home. Compost bins are designed specifically for this. They take up minimal space and actually assist in speeding up the break down process.

Within your home, specify a compost container that is especially for your kitchen scraps. This is an easy way to save your scraps and save yourself time as well. Empty it regularly within your compost bin or pile.

Organic vs. conventional food is quite a hot topic this century. Fifty percent of Americans are now purchasing organic food at least once a week, whereas in 2000, only about 17% of Americans were buying organic.

Organic food is better because of the way it is grown and handled during cultivation and transportation. An apple is really just an apple, but if you grow it in radon-rich soil doused in chemicals every day, your body will absorb all of the good apple nutrients along with all of the radiation and chemicals. You can use the popular fruit and vegetable washes and that definitely helps with surface residue, but the apple absorbs and incorporates within its fibers much more of the bad stuff you are washing off the surface.

Much of the current debate on organic food has come to head with the tired-and-true green conscious advocates. Most organic foods purchased in large markets are shipped from many distant areas from all over the North and South American continents. Our eco-friendly green consciousness tells us that the oil used to ship organic food is more harmful to the world than buying conventional (pesticide-rich) foods.

Not a terrible argument except that the chemicals used in local crops are most definitely destructive to all of the planet immediately and in future generations. Buying local organic is definitely the way to go, plus never-refrigerated fruits and veggies retain their full and amazing flavor. Due to consumer demand, organic markets are becoming easier to find.
